Picking Up Cardboard Panels

Subject

Projects that have purchased a Stall Decoration Set or cardboard panels in ”[5]Order on Purchasing Food and Items”

  • Of the food and items purchased through the Committee, only cardboard panels can be picked up in advance at Komaba or Hongo Campuses during the specified period below.
    • The same applies to the cardboard panels included in the Stall Decoration Set. Items other than the cardboard panels included in the Stall Decoration Set will be distributed on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival).
    • It is also possible to pick up the cardboard panels on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival).
    • The location of item distribution on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival) will be explained at the 3rd Information Session.
  • When picking up cardboard panels in advance, please bring the student ID of either the Main Manager or Sub Manager.
    • You can also pick up the items by presenting a copy of the student ID or a screen showing the student information on UTAS.
    • Even if you are not one of the project managers, you can still pick up the items by bringing a copy of either of the project managers’ student IDs. In that case, please contact us in advance via Inquiry.
  • If you wish to change the location or time for picking up the cardboard panels requested through ”[5]Order on Purchasing Food and Items”, please contact us via Inquiry by May 11th (Sun.) 9:00 PM.

Information Regarding Advance Pickup

  • The date, time, and location for picking up the cardboard panels in advance are as follows:
  • Date: May 12th (Mon.) - May 16th (Fri.)
  • Time: 12:20 PM - 12:50 PM, 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Location (Komaba Campus): Warehouse to the east of Campus Plaza Bldg. B
  • Location (Hongo Campus): Main Office (Room 6, 3rd Floor, Second Refectory)

Handing In Cardboard Panels

Projects that have picked up cardboard panels in advance at Komaba Campus

  • “Handing in” refers to handing in your constructed work temporarily to the Committee at Komaba Campus for the Committee to transport them to Hongo Campus.
    • Please do not transport cardboard panels using public transportation.
    • You cannot hand in cardboard panels at Hongo Campus.
  • If you pick up cardboard panels in advance at Komaba Campus, it is recommended to hand in the constructed cardboard panel to the Committee.
  • The date, time, and location for handing in cardboard panels are as follows:
  • Date: May 12th (Mon.) - May 16th (Fri.)
  • Time: 12:20 PM - 12:50 PM, 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM
  • Location (Komaba Campus): Warehouse to the east of Campus Plaza Bldg. B
    • It is the same as those for advance pickup.
  • When handing in cardboard panels, please write the project ID and a project manager’s phone number on the back of the cardboard panel.
  • Please note the following conditions regarding shape when handing in your items. If these conditions are not met, the Committee will not be held responsible for any damage during transportation. If you wish to shape your item in a form that does not meet the conditions, it is recommended to modify them after picking them up at Hongo Campus on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival).
  • The item must be rectangular in shape
  • The size must be one of the following: 450mm x 1,800mm, 900mm x 1,800mm, or 728mm x 1,030mm (B1 size)
  • There is no limit to the number of cardboard panels you can hand in.
  • The cardboard panels that are handed in will be returned at Hongo Campus on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival), along with the remaining items of the Stall Decoration Set.
    • Once handed in, you cannot pick up the cardboard panels before May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival).
  • If you are handing in cardboard panels decorated with paint, please ensure that the paint is completely dry.

Concerning Work That Involves Painting

  • Please perform any work involving paint at Tsuchioto Yard on Komaba Campus (the paved area located to the east of Campus Plaza Bldg. B).
    • Paint-related work cannot be performed at Hongo or Yayoi Campuses.
  • Due to a scheduled construction at Tsuchioto Yard, the area available for use may be limited. The construction period is currently undetermined, but there is a chance it will overlap with the production schedule. Please be careful when carrying out the work.
    • We will inform you via Inquiry as soon as the details of the construction are available.
  • Please do not dispose of paint in sinks or toilets, as it may cause blockages in the drainage pipes. Additionally, please do not wash paint-covered tools in the sink.
    • After use, brushes should be disposed of as unburnable garbage without washing them.
  • When performing work that involves paint, please take sufficient precautions to prevent staining the ground, such as laying down blue tarps or old newspapers.
    • The Committee will not lend out blue tarps or old newspapers, so please make sure to prepare them in advance for your project.

Putting Up Stall Decoration Set

What You Need

  • Stall Decoration Set
  • Tools to cut cardboard (e.g. box cutter, scissors)
  • Tools to make holes (e.g. pick)

Procedure

All steps except for 1. must be carried out at the project place on May 23rd (Fri.) (the day before the festival). If you are handing in cardboard panels from the Stall Decoration Set, please ensure that the panels are cut in half horizontally in advance.

  1. Cut the cardboard in half horizontally and apply the decorations.
    • Cut the cardboard into two pieces of 450mm x 1,800mm.
    • It is recommended to finish the decorations by May 22nd (Thu.).
    • For the preservation of campus facilities, decorations using paint or similar materials can only be done at Tsuchioto Yard at Komaba Campus. Please do not carry out such activities at the project place under any circumstances.
  2. Joint the two pieces of cardboard horizontally by wrapping the joint area with OPP tape 2 to 3 times.
  3. Wrap the entire surface with vinyl rainshade and tape them with OPP tape.
  4. Make holes at the marked positions shown in the image and reinforce them with OPP tape. Make sure the holes are large enough for the vinyl string to go through.
  5. Put the vinyl string through the holes and tie them to the tent.
    • Tie the decorated cardboard before you raise the tent.
    • Pass the vinyl string over the roof and tie it to the tent frame at the back.
